Commercial Water Pump Installation and Repairs

Commercial Water Pump Installation and Repairs

Commercial water pumps are heavy-duty and built to perform at a high level of efficiency for long periods of time without fail. Over time the impellers and other moving parts of the pump can become worn and require repairs and replacements of pieces.

Commercial Pump & Mechanical, Inc. has a full suite of commercial water pump services that can handle any project large or small. If you have new pumps ready to go, we can install them. If you need pumps built to custom specifications, our fully equipped machine shop can build and assemble any style of the pump to fit your system.

Our in-house water pump testing facility allows us to tweak and optimize our pumps before they leave our warehouse so you can rely on highly efficient, long-lasting pumps to power water through your system for years to come.

Submersible Well Pumps

Submersible Well Pumps go down near the bottom of the well and push the water out. Since the motor is submerged in water, the electric motor is hermetically sealed and is protected from liquid exposure by the pump housing.

Vertical Deep Well Turbine Pumps

A Vertical Deep Well Turbine Pump has a motor that sits above a well and turns a turbine that is deep underground. Used commonly in irrigation and drinking water, a Vertical Deep Well Turbine Pump typically lasts much longer than a submersible pump.

When we come to inspect your deepwater well, we’ll use a video camera to take a look at what’s going on before we determine the proper course of action.

Booster Pumps

Vertical and Horizontal Booster Pumps

Booster pumps are used when pressure needs to be added to the system to move water where it needs to go. Booster pumps are normally used to boost water pressure in municipal systems, in water wells, irrigation systems, and rainwater collection systems.

While Horizontal Booster pumps were more common before, they are slowly being replaced by Vertical Booster Pumps for a few reasons:

  • They operate at a higher efficiency.
  • It’s easier to pull a pump out and replace it.
  • They have a smaller footprint and are less invasive.
  • The pumps last longer.

Since they are more common, it’s easier to get pumps, parts, and pieces.

CPM staff can help you find the right booster pump setup for your system or help you troubleshoot a system that isn’t running up to par.

Variable Frequency Drives

The old way of controlling the water pressure in a drinking water system involved placing a valve in the pump discharge and using the valve to control the flow and pressure of the water being pumped. As you can imagine, this was very inefficient as it operated at full capacity at all times.

Modern systems use what’s called a Variable Frequency Drive. In this kind of system, the flow of water is controlled by the drive and pump itself rather than a valve. It is much more efficient and saves energy.

Some utility companies even offer rebates for replacing the old valve system with an updated Variable Frequency Drive system.

CPM can help you navigate the rebate process and make sure you get credit for any system improvements you make in regards to this type of system.
